Hi, I'm Joseph Colaneri (Joe) and I'm a multifaceted composer and copyist based in New Jersey/ New York City, whose passion for storytelling through music has led to the premiere and direction of numerous works. Among my most memorable achievements is the recent staging of "New York Stories" at McAfee Concert Hall in Nashville, TN, a testament to my ability to bring diverse themes such as activism, theatrics, and sound to color to life on stage. Influenced by mentors like Dr. Mark Volker, David McKay, and Dr. Jeffrey Ames all of Belmont University, my compositions blend classical and commercial techniques, while my choral experiences touring the southeastern United States and singing background vocals for the likes of Trisha Yearwood, Amy Grant, and Broderick Dickson have enriched my understanding of performance. Committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians, Joseph regularly volunteers teaching music at schools like the W. O. Smith school of music, sharing his expertise and fostering a love for music in young learners. Currently, I'm focused on expanding "New York Stories" into a full-scale musical with the help of book writer JQ Hennessey, highlighting my dedication to creating compelling narratives through music.
